Instruction for use - CLS Upgrade Kit

INTRODUCTION / USERS
Congratulation! You have just purchased a “CLS Upgrade Kit”. The „CLS upgrade kit” is an innovative accessory, designed to assist amateur water rescue. Installed on your ring buoy or horseshoe buoy it makes it easier to use and therefore safer. No tools or special skills are required to install and use the product. The product can be used by any consumer who is able to understand the instructions and physically carry out them.

SAFETY ADVICE
- Read the instructions carefully before using the product!
- Keep a hard copy of the instructions in a safe place! If you pass the product on to someone else, make sure you pass all the documentation with it.
- None of these instructions substitute or override the official navigational safety instructions or good seamanship practices.
- The product do NOT replace any Personal Flotation Device! Only an accessory for throwable flotation devices.
- Although the product makes amateur water rescue easier, it does NOT guarantee victim’s survival!
- The product is NOT suitable for all types or sizes of floating devices! Check the available product samples to make sure the product is compatible with your rescue device.
Keep the product away from heat sources! Keep the product away from heat sources! High temperatures will melt parts which will then no longer be able to perform their functions. High-temperature parts may emit irritating or toxic fumes.

The product only has an impact on the environment as recyclable waste after its useful life. End-of-life parts shall be disposed of in accordance with the recycling symbols and local regulations in force.

INSTALLATION / COMPATIBILITY CHECK
- Before installation, all hook-and-loop fastener must be clean, dry and free from stuck-on dirt!
- After installation, make sure that the harness, pockets or straps do not obstruct the use of the grab line and do not cover the reflective strips.

USE OF THE PRODUCT
- Learn and practice using the product before you use it for a real rescue!
- The product shall only be used by trained person or under the supervision of a trained person! Trained person is a person who familiar with the instructions and has already practiced using the product.
- Using the product will allow the rope to run freely (without knotting) more often than using only coiled rope but not guaranteed in all cases.
- The presented methods are recommended, and generally applicable only. The rescue supervisor or rescuer shall assessing the situation and choose the most appropriate method for the victim which may differ from those described.

Risk of stalling the rescue process!
- Before throwing the rescue device or the handle, make sure that there is nothing to prevent the throw or the rope from running freely!
- When coil the rope onto the rope holder, use loops formed figure of 8 and make sure they are on top of each other! This will help prevent knotting.
NOTICE! Due to UV radiation, the color of the product may change.
Installation of the product does not decrease the buoyancy of your floating device, or only to such a small extent that is not affect the safety.
8.
MAINTENANCE
Risk of a defective or improperly maintained product!
- Keep the parts clean! Sticky dirt can hinder or prevent proper use of the product.
- Avoid using strong solvents or sharp tools for cleaning and do not use a pressure washer or washing machine! These can damage the product.
- Visually inspect the product after each use! In case of visible wear or damage to any part of the product, the product shall no longer be used and shall be replaced.
- Check the hook-and-loop fasteners regularly. If you notice a loss of opening force or wear, stop using the product and replace it with a new one.
- Allow all parts to dry thoroughly before packing away! This will prevent mold, odors and color changes.
- Replace the product within 6 years with a new one!
The product requires no special maintenance, only cleaning in case of contamination. Remove dirt with a soft sponge. Use clean fresh water or mild detergents. After use in salt water, rinse the product with fresh water.
9.
WARRANTY
In the event of product defect, you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty. The warranty for this product is 1 year. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Please keep the original sales receipt in a safe location. This document is required as your proof of purchase. Should this product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 1 year from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it – at our choice – free of charge to you. This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly. The warranty applies to defects in material or manufacture. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear, thus possibly considered consumables.
