CLS Rescue System
The „Completed Lifebuoy System” is a rescue tool system in which the tools work in synergy with the approved throwable rescue device, eliminating its shortcomings. This system is quick and easy to use, increasing the chances of rescue and survival.
What are the shortcomings of the approved throwable rescue devices on a boat?
- As buoys have no handle, they are difficult to grip and throw with accurate aiming, especially in strong wind.
- Floating device tied to the rescue line can not be thrown immediately. The rescue line requires preparation.
- The raw material of the rescue line makes it difficult to handle and prone to knotting.
- There is no dedicated element for connecting the rope. This is particularly problematic for horseshoes.
- The pulling force is not distributed over the surface. Repeated pulling can damage the buoy structure.
- It is too slow and complicated to tie the line to the buoy before each operation. If the knot is tied in advance, it is complicated to untie it when you need the rope separately.
- The rescue line material is slippery, especially when wet. Sometimes it's not easy to hold and pull.
Can CLS overcome these shortcomings?
- The attached harness includes a strap handle for convenient grip and throwing of the life buoy.
- No preparation is needed. CLS is always ready to use.
- The plastic handle is equipped with a rope holder to safe storage of the rescue line in a way that ensures tangle-free throws.
- The attached harness includes a towing eye, which provides a clear connection point for the rope.
- The harness with plastic insert distributes the load over the surface so the body of the buoy is not damaged by the repeated pulls.
- CLS uses buoyant carabiners for the attachments, which are quick, simple and safe.
- The plastic handle has V-cleats to hold and pull the victim safely.

The Completed Lifebuoy System – CLS for short – is a set of tools to help you use your lifebuoy. CLS consists of the following elements:
A throwable rescue device (type IV PFD) which you probably already have. You should choose one that meets the requirements of your country.
Buoyant lifeline which you may already have, but we have added two buoyant carabiners for quick attachments.
Load transfer harness with strap handle and pockets is also a new tool. It prevents the floating device’s damage during towing and makes the throw easier.
